Gina's mother, Bianca, arrived from Spain last night. How nice it was to have her with us.
In the afternoon we took a stroll around a nearby lake festooned with works of art. Oma and granddaughters enjoyed time together. The intention was to rent a boat and row across, but that plan sunk when we learned that the entire fleet of rowboats (all two of them) did as well. Instead, we stopped for a snack (what else?) amid happy Bavarians whose classic street signs help them remember how to get home after a few too many beers.
Inessa and Eva stopped to ponder life's great mysteries. Or were they calculating how to get their next ice cream? Either way, it was a lovely afternoon.
In the evening we enjoyed a fabulous dinner of Bavarian Onion Torte a la Bettina, followed by a powerful schnapps a la Bruno while kid #1 and kid #2 entertained themselves.
